I am your local cookie lady located in Aberdeen, NJ. I am 100% self taught and my sugar cookies are made, from scratch, right here in my own kitchen! I have always loved to bake and a few years ago I gave a try at cookie decorating using royal icing and the rest is history! Check out my story below to get to know a little more about who I am.
My Story
I'm Sofia, the proud owner of Mommy's Little Sugar Cookies by Sofia, LLC. I am a married mother of two and I have always loved to bake. A few years ago I hosted a house warming party for my sister and decided I would try to make custom sugar cookies for the event. How hard could that be, right? HARD!! The cookies I decorated were not what I had hoped for, but I was determined to perfect the art of cookie decorating. I watched countless videos and practiced endlessly. I taught myself the basics of cookie decorating and continued on to new decorating techniques. I couldn’t have gotten to where I am today without the loving encouragement from my friends and family. My husband has supported me every step of the way, including eating any and all
"boo-boo" cookies (it's a tough job but somebody has to do it)!
I made the tough decision to walk away from my 14-year career as a perinatal sonographer to follow my heart. I have since dedicated all of my time to Mommy's Little Sugar Cookies by Sofia. My cookies are made from scratch in my own kitchen, and I put 100% into each and every one them. My favorite part of running my own business is seeing the pride in my children's faces when they tell people, “Yep, that's my mom, she’s the cookie lady". I love sharing my creations with everyone and I hope my story inspires others to keep at it, whatever that "it" may be.
